We are blessed to have the entire CWU Coaching staff come down and run
our program. CWU is currently ranked 9th Nationally in Division 1 Play. Further these talented student athletes have agreed to travel down and mentor the High school kids in the sport they love so much.

Coaching Staff consists of:
Jonathan Douglas: Head coach.
Coach Douglas hails from Guyana, has over 9 years of playing experience. The last four years he played at CWU and was Captain of the successful 2008 Wildcat Squad League Champions. He trailed for the Pacific Coast as well as named to the Pacific Northwest Colligate All-Star Team.

Tony Pacheco is currently co head coach of CWU, He will coach the Yakima Forwards and Line out strategy. Coach Pacheco is a former age grade national team player and played in the Jr. World Cup for the USA. He played collegiately for CWU and was a 3 year captain. He was selected to the Pacific Coast Collegiate and Mens Club All Star teams several times. He has been a standout player for the Olympic Club of San Francisco a perennial national championship contender for the previous 5 years.

Bob Ford is current Head Coach at CWU, and Managed the US National Team “ The Eagles” in the 2007 World Cup in France against England, Samoa, Tonga, and the World Champions South Africa. Prior to Managing the Eagles he managed the USA Falcons to the Championship match in the North American 4 series vs. Canada West. He managed the Pacific Coast Collegiate Grizzlies to 5 National Championships and was the Head Coach of the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Loggers for 5 years and is currently the Head Coach of the Collegiate Loggers program. His success on the pitch is only overshadowed by his innovative coaching style which he attribute greatly to the coaches he has worked with at the National and International level. Coach Ford will coach the Yakima Players in Skills development and Defense.

Jason Ray Coach was a standout football player for the University of Montana before trying his hand at rugby. Coach Ray took his playing skills to New Zealand and played club rugby in the Otago province and later the Seattle Mens Club. He resurrected the CWU Team in 1992. With Coach Ray, CWU enjoyed 15 years of nationally competitive play. Coach Ray is well known in PNW and Pacific coast Rugby as a player, named to regional and National representative team. Again, his coaching is equal or perhaps better than his playing prowess. He coached the Pacific Coast Colligate All-Stars for a number of years.

Rob Lynch: Team Manager.... Perhaps one of the organizations greatest and most influential members, Rob is a inspiration to us all. His passion and love for the game of rugby is nothing short of enduring. Without his unbeliveable tenacity and hard work very few of us would know anything about the opportunity to develop the sport of rugby in the Yakima Valley! Rob has worked tirelessly to connect members of the Yakima community with the Griffins Program and to seek out the best and brightest athletes available. Rob was the 1st person to recruit and register an active member to the Griffins Roster. Not to be outshadowed by his former playing career with the YAKIMA Men's Team, Rob is the glue that keeps us pulled together.

These coaches are nationally renown for rapid skill development, and the ability to transform new athletes into national contenders in remarkably short time. We simply do not ‘wish’ to do the same to the Yakima High School Griffins…We Expect to have this team playing at a national level very soon.
